Tokyo Japan: Life in Pictures [3 of 5] Shinjuku

Shinjuku at night. When people think of Tokyo, this is what they imagine.

During the day however, Shinjuku can be a different place.

Business Men, and Mohawked youth walk the same streets.

While hair dye adds an added flair.

Modern art breaks out against the order of the Business District.

From the Tokyo Tocho building the city lies open before you.

It literally reaches on as far as the eye can see.

Outside the station Taxis line up in an orderly fashion.

Men: At work.

Job Opportunities present themselves in the oddest location.

A temple just off the Main Roads. The sounds of the street simply fade away.

Golden Gai: Home to more bars than anywhere else.

Each bar sits about six people.

When night, at last, falls

the city wakes from slumber

offering desire
