Day 100

Well, here we are at Day One Hundred.

Normal people would see this as a good time to head back and call it a day – but nope, not me. I have to pack up and head on out to Africa. No worries. It's all good. I'm still into the travelling. Actually, I've been losing my feel for it this last week, but now that it's being forced back on me, I'm kinda geared up to go.

My flight that will get me into Heathrow at 9am their time, 4am my time, isn't going to be that awesome. And then I have a ten hour stop over – but aside from that, once I'm in Africa, and meeting up with my tour people, everything will be fine and dandy. I'm sure of it.

Plus – three weeks of minimal thought, and not having to do all that much but follow the tour.

This may make me go insane. I'm not sure.

But hey, day 100. We all go a little mad sometimes.

This morning I packed my bags once more. But for a final time. Everything I need is in there, good and tight. Somehow I have nine pounds more than when I arrived in Florida. It's all the winter gear, I know. And this wont be a problem on transatlantic flights, but for national flights where my luggage is limited to 20kg? Well – I have three weeks to read a lot of books. With a number of my bus tour days looking at 10 hours of transit a day, I doubt this will be a problem.

Anyway – discount airlines will probably be a terrible idea. I wonder if I'm booked on any? I'll figure that out, when I figure that out. The short hop from Livingstone to J.Burg may kill me. Just smile and pay the fees. What can I do? It's not the easiest when you're packing for African, and Antarctica all at the same time. Two extremes people, two extremes.

This brings me to another point. In Africa, I'm not sure how often I'll be able to update, if at all. So for the next while I have some posts set to go. I think they last until January 2nd. Mostly they're just pictures taken along the way, through Europe. But not all.

Anyway – if I do update, they'll be all smooshed together. To be honest, I don't know if I'll even be able to charge my netbook. So – it may be sketchy for a while here. But I will write backlogs, and I have plenty of pens and papers to record what's what – so you will hear all about Africa. Fear not. It just might be delayed.

So with that being said – if you've not heard from my by January 6th, fear the worst. And if not by Jan 10th, then the real worst. But all should go well. What could go wrong in J.Burg, yeah?

All the best. Merry Christmas, Happy New Years. Next time we talk, I'll probably be 27. I become older the day I land in this brand new (to me) continent – on the 13th.
